Philanthropic Funds

Christian Care endeavors to be a "Christ Centered" organization striving for excellence, as we treat our residents and employees with respect. Christian Care's mission is to provide "quality and responsive senior housing and healthcare services."

At the Christian Care Foundation, we seek to support this mission by securing philanthropic gifts and then administering these gifts with biblical principles. Donations enable Christian Care to offer a full continuum of outstanding senior housing and healthcare services. Your gift to the Foundation offers many opportunities to assist and help seniors celebrate life today and tomorrow...

Spiritual Life Fund - Christian Care is committed to providing an environment that encourages the spiritual growth of our residents. Due to this commitment, each of our campuses has a trained, full-time chaplain. Through Bible studies, worship services, counseling, social and cultural events, visits, prayer groups and programs the spiritual lives of residents are enhanced. The Chaplains endeavor to build a strong sense of community on our campuses that provide our residents with a sense of belonging, fulfillment and peace. Donations to the Spiritual Life Fund enable our Chaplains to expand these services and add new activities focused on developing the spiritual life of our residents. This is an opportunity to specifically support a ministry focused on enhancing the spiritual life of "widows and orphans."

Benevolence Fund - This fund is intended to help residents with their healthcare needs when no alternative for financial assistance is available. The Benevolence Fund is designed to help provide financial assistance based upon special needs to residents who cannot afford appropriate care in spite of state and federal needs based support.

Nursing Center AZ Tax Credit - The Arizona legislature allows taxpayers to claim a $400 tax-credit for donating $400 to the Christian Care Nursing Center. This is not a deduction - it is a dollar-for-dollar credit against your tax bill. The legislature passed this tax credit in 1999 to assist organizations that provide housing to low-income seniors. Our nursing center residents currently average 87 years of age and between 60 and 75% don't have the financial resources to pay for their care. Government reimbursements do not cover the expense to care for these residents. Donations to the Tax Credit Fund help Christian Care maintain affordable rates; offer enhanced services and purchase additional "non-budget" items for our Nursing Center residents.

Transportation Fund - Just like your household, residents need to visit doctors, hospitals, banks, post offices, restaurants, theatres and grocery stores. However; with more than 2,100 residents and an average age in the mid 80's, resident transportation is more challenging than even for the largest of families. As one's mobility decreases, it often becomes difficult to make even simple trips. Transportation can, also, become an issue of dignity. If one uses a walker, electric scooter or wheelchair will it fit on the van or bus? Are the bus steps too steep? Can I get in and out of my wheelchair to ride the bus? Will I have to be last to get on the bus? This fund enhances Christian Cares ability to address these issues and offer the best transportation options for our residents.

Individual Campus Fund - Christian Care is more than one place; it is in fact five campuses that are home to approximately 2,100 residents. Just like your home, things wear out and need to be replaced and improvements can always be made. Add in technology advances and there seems to be an endless need for campus funds. Chairs need to be reupholstered, pianos tuned, hallways repainted and wallpapered, computer programs updated, appliances replaced, parking lots paved, water fountains fixed or added and the list goes on. Since people often feel special connections to the campus they know best, a donation to Campus Funds enables Christian Care to provide amenities that are often considered "extras," and outside the annual budgeting process.

Unrestricted Fund Gifts - For undesignated purposes, or The Unrestricted Fund, enable Christian Care to respond quickly to the areas of greatest need throughout our organization. Unrestricted gifts are used to meet our top priorities for resident care and services.

Your generous contributions help make our communities "home' for thousands of seniors. Please contact our Development Director if you have questions about how you can best designate your gift.
